A great example of hardwork paying off Grea8gawd’s work ethic speaks volumes. Raised in the Midwest he’d go on to move to NYC in his teens, and then Syracuse. He’d gain experience and understanding about networking and making connections. Matching his grind with his skills is a recipe for success.
He’s been building a name for himself and has worked with top Mcs like Roc Marciano, Jadakiss, Benny the Butcher and more. This lead to his debut album “Snow Day” released last December. The album shows wordplay, reality rap, and storytelling. The production makes it clear he wants to be heard and not drowned out by heavy Drums.
Q-Being that you’ve lived a few places where would you say your rap career started?
A-I would say my rap career started in Brooklyn. I started writing before BK but it was while in Brooklyn that I took it serious.
Q-How do you decide on production?
A-I don’t, the production usually chooses me to be honest. I take beat submissions from all producers. When I hear something special I record.
Q-When did you know it was time to drop an official LP?
A-I knew it was time when people started to say “I want to hear you by yourself Gawd” That’s when I knew.
Q-Who are some of the producers & features on the album?
A-The only features are Hell Rell, Joey Majors and Thavid Ruffin.
Q-I see you have many collabs who were some of your first collabs?
A-My Collab career started with Jadakiss.
Q-What’s important to you for people to get from your music?
A-If I could get any message across from my music the message would be to weigh the pros and cons before making a quick decision that could change your life forever.
Q-What do you feel helped you get to the level you’re at now?
A-Being at the level I’m at now can be attributed to being Persistant and Patient. Also just experiencing and going through all walks of life. The ups and downs helped groom my character and aura.
Q-I see you take your Pen serious what’s the motivation behind that?
A-My pen is taken so serious because I know and understand that I have the potential to influence and change the lives of the youth. With that being said knowing what I know I can’t just glorify the street like as many of us artist do.
Q-What part of your artistry would you say is most polished?
A-I would say that the way I vividly paint scenarios and the way I articulate is my best asset. It’s not what you say it’s how you say it. I include the minute details that makes people say “Oh, He really did that” It’s not just music.
