E Murda talks “New project “Omerta 2″, tour life, and linking with BSF”

Q: Where you from?
A: Eastside of Stamford, CT. Ursula Place and Warren St to be exact.

Q: When did you decide to take music seriously?

A: After 2016 I started taking it serious and dropped my first project ‘Omertá’ on all platforms in 2019.

Q: What was it that made you want to become an artist?
A: My step father Jose taught me how to rap at 9 and would tell me I’m going to be a famous rapper one day. I been freestyling and rapping ever since. He passed away in 2016 when i was 18 and it inspired me to take music more seriously.

Q: When you started did you first focus on building a buzz in your town or more so online?

A: At first I thought I had to make a buzz in my hometown then I realized the world is way bigger than where we come from, once I changed my mindset I grew in ways I never could imagine.

Q: How did you decide on what kind of sound you wanted?
A: My stepfather Jose pointed me in the direction of boom bap hiphop since 9 years old. I’ve always rapped this way from the beginning!

Q: Who were some of the rappers you were listening too when you first started?
A: The LOX , Fabulous, The NotoriousB.I.G, Cassidy, French montana, Max B, Stack bundles, dipset, Oun P. I also watch a lot of battle raps.

Q: What adjustments did you have to make when you started pursuing a rap career seriously?
A: I had to focus on myself and become more selfish for the sake of my career. Put distractions to the side and start saving my money more and investing every dollar I had into my art!

Q: What can listeners expect from your music?
A: Realism, rugged Hip-Hop, a grimey sound and just a small biography of my life in every song.

Q: How’d the BSF connection come about?
A: My manager SOSA met Benny at a Marijuana event in Bridgeport, CT, he gave him some Born Baked merch. In the next year we bought a feature from Benny and from that day on one thing led to another and we just ended up being family down the line!

Q: What’s the experience like traveling in states and abroad?
A: It’s a great feeling, especially when you come from poverty and traveling wasn’t something common to you growing up. Repping my state and brand everywhere I go is a surreal feeling with all the love being reciprocated to me now. I toured Europe for the first time last year and it changed my life! It gave me a taste of the life i want to live through my art. I have real fans all over the world who love me, love my art and its a beautiful thing to be able to travel and meet them. It gives me a chance to sign CDs, merchandise, and take pictures to give them that love back.

Q: Have you been able to soak up some game from the artist you’ve toured with?
A: Absolutely. You have to be a sponge in this game and soak up all the game you could. the first tour I went on was with Benny and I learned so much about the ins and outs about tour life. He also taught me the blueprint to this underground rap world. Then I went on my 2nd tour with 38 spesh who’s a great friend and mentor to me, he also would give me a lot of advice. The most recent tour I did was “Wont He Do It” European Tour with my brother Conway. Ive learned so much with Conway by just listening to what he has to say to me, Con would have some deep conversations with me almost every night on tour about everyday life in general not always about music and we got really close. He taught me to keep striving no matter what adversity life throws at you and drop a lot of music every year!

Q: What project or song are you promoting now?

A: I’m promoting Omertá 2 my latest project distributed through Next Records and Black Soprano Family.

Talk about you brand Born Baked brand:

A: Bornbaked is my clothing line that I own with my Manager and business partner SOSA @bornbaked_ceo. I’m the founder of bornbaked and sosa is the CEO. We started saying bornbaked as a phrase at age 12 a long time ago and ended up making it a clothing line right before SOSA went to prison for 2 years. While he was away I put my all into the brand and pushed it the most I could on my own. Once he came home it was established and running, but SOSA helped me take it to the level we are at today. Without SOSA none of this would be possible! He was the only person who ever believed in the brand as much as I did so its only right he became the CEO and took charge while i invested all my time into the rap. We later on met our brother Jorge who is a part of the bornbaked family and team and he helped us with running everyday tasks and sales. SOSA and Jorge are 2 people that are highly responsible for bornbakeds success, as they stepped up and took over when I had to step down and focus on my rap career in order to help us all grow.
